Interesting video Lorie. I have had my own liability insurance for years as I want to have my own protection in case of an issue that I have to defend myself. I hope to see you do a more in-depth video, in-service for nurses on this topic as it is important for all nurses to understand their risk and know how they can be protected.

I wrote a post on this topic in my blog, Nurse Advocate. Here is a link http://www.nursesadvocates.net/2016/01/nursing-claims-data-what-does-it-tell-us.html

Great video. I’ve had NSO insurance since I got my license in 1980. Their coverage is one of the best and prices are reasonable. I work with nurses who encourage new nurses NOT to get coverage as it makes them more likely to be sued. They also say the hospital has insurance that covers them. What’s worse, I heard a hospital attorney say the same thing!! Could you make a video , or do you already have one, that talks about the importance for nurses to have their own coverage that does not mention a company? While agree with this video, they will ignore the advice since it promotes a company. Would love to have one to post on Facebook and share with our new nurses.
