In nursing, there is a fine line between high tech and high touch. Sometimes I wonder, with so much technology, will they even need nurses in the future? Preventing Patient Complaints
Patients are ill and out of their comfort zone, they have very little control while in the hospital, they’re dependent on others to bring them food, assist them to the bathroom, help them with their hygiene and, of course, for their medical needs. A recent article on nurse.com dealt with a study by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (“BLS”) showing that nursing salaries have gone up 2.6% per year. As baby boomers are aging and more people have access to health care, more and more nurses are needed. The BLS predicts that nursing employment will grow 16% from 2014 to 2024.
